When I first started by fitness journey, I knew very little about the wide variety of foods that can be in your diet, from nuts, seeds, fruits, to vegetables dairy, and lean meats. Not to mention, all the great activities that we can do to be healthy.
Now, I’d like to share my three favorite forms of activity. Grab a GOEO bar and read on!
One of my favorite forms of exercise is hiking. Not only is hiking my favorite form of exercise because of the chance to get outdoors and enjoy nature, but also the health benefits of hiking.
If you live in East Tennessee, the Smoky Mountains are not too far, making hiking also a convenient form of exercise when you have a weekend available.
You see, hiking requires endurance because they’re oftentimes multiple miles long. Not to mention, if you hike one of my favorite hikes, Mount LeConte in the Great Smoky Mountains, you’re literally climbing up a mountain at a massive elevation.
It’s not surprising that hiking can burn a lot of calories and is an excellent form of exercise for losing weight and getting toned.
That’s me running a Knoxville half marathon. A couple years ago, I would have never imagined that I’d love running.
However, as a young adult, running has become one of my favorite forms of exercise because it’s a great way to de-stress at the end of the day.
Now, you might not be a fan of running. I totally get it. Try going out for a one or two mile light jog or even walk. By choosing running as a form of exercise, you’ll slowly build up the endurance to increase your mileage.
Weight lifting goes perfectly with cardio. In fact, it’s important to get in weight lifting to keep your bones and muscles healthy.
I typically lift weights three to four days per week, rotating both upper body and lower body strength training. By doing weight lifting exercises like squats, deadlifts, bench presses, or shoulder presses, you can ensure that you’re staying in shape and keeping your body healthy.
